Additional IP Address for Mail

Due to a problem with one of our Mail Gateways we have enabled a further server to deal with incoming mail.  Most customer will be unaffected by this however if you have set a rule to firewall to allow mail from certain IP addresses you will need to add 54.246.147.134.

Important Changes to Webshops and Payment Solutions

Dear Customer

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the resilience of our network we are pleased to announce that our Webshop hosting platform will soon be moving to our cloud-based data centre. Your website (website name here) will be transferred to the new platform between 20:00 22/03/2013 and 08:00 23/03/2013.

To ensure that your Website continues to work properly on the new platform you may need to adjust your settings with your payment provider (usually PayPal, WorldPay, SagePay) to allow requests from the IP address of the new platform (54.246.181.48). Failure to do this will result in transactions failing for your website. Furthermore, if your domain is NOT managed by Freecom you will need to change your DNS records to ensure that this points to the same IP.

If you have any questions regarding the move to our new hosting platform please email support@freecom.net or call 08444 720 022.

Kind Regards

Migration of Linux Web Hosting Platform

Dear Customer

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the resilience of our network we are pleased to announce that our Linux web hosting platform will soon be moving to our cloud-based data centre.
Your website will be transferred to the new platform between 20:00 01/03/2013 and 10:00 02/03/2013. During the transfer you will not be able to access your website files via FTP but websites will still be visible throughout.

If your domain name is being managed by Freecom you will not need to do anything. If you have a domain name managed by another provider you may need to change your DNS  records to ensure this points to the new platform on the day of your transfer. Instructions on how to do this can be found at http://www.freecom.net/files/DNS_Changes.pdf.
You will also need to ensure that if you use WordPress, Joomla, Magento, SilverStripe or any other CMS you have up to date plug-ins for your site. If your site utilises PHP you will also need to make sure this is compatible with PHP version 5.4.11.

If you have any questions regarding the move to our new hosting platform please email support@freecom.net or call 08444 720 022.

Kind Regards
